Fuat Çapa — Biography

Fuat Çapa was born on August 15, 1968, in the Emirdağ district of Afyonkarahisar and moved to Belgium with his family in 1972 at age four, later beginning his coaching career there.

He managed lower-division Belgian clubs including Turnhout, Patro Maasmechelen, Heusden-Zolder, Geel and KFC VW Hamme, earned a UEFA Pro Licence from the Royal Belgian Football Association, and became one of the few Turkish coaches to hold a top-tier diploma while working in Europe's first and second divisions. He led Gençlerbirliği to a TSYD Cup in the 2007–08 season, returned for a second spell there in 2011, and went on to manage Kayseri Erciyesspor and Antalyaspor. Fluent in five languages and once trained under Guus Hiddink at PSV in the Netherlands, Çapa moved into an executive role as director of football at Samsunspor after his playing and coaching career, where in 2026 he has weighed in on the club's transfer business, discussing plans to sign a goalkeeper, a centre-back and a striker.
