Filiz Vural — Biography

Filiz Vural (born 1953) is a Turkish model and former beauty pageant contestant, also known after her marriage as Filiz Vural Çağlar. Her date of birth is recorded only to the year in the available sources.

She won the title of Miss Turkey 1970 at a pageant organised by the newspaper Hürriyet. The following year she represented her country at the Miss Europe contest held in Tunis, Tunisia, and was crowned Miss Europe on 18 September 1971; Turkish outlets refer to her as the country's second Miss Europe.

In 1972 she married Engin Çağlar, one of the best-known leading men of the Yeşilçam era. Çağlar died on 1 November 2025 as a result of a traffic accident; his death and the funeral held the following day were reported widely by national outlets including Hürriyet, Milliyet and NTV, whose coverage also recalled the couple's long marriage.
