Feti Okuroğlu — Biography

Feti Okuroğlu (born 5 August 1971) is a Turkish former international footballer and coach who played as a centre-back. Most sources give his birthplace as İzmir, while records that go down to district level name Torbalı.

His name is associated above all with Bursaspor and Galatasaray, and he also played for the Turkish senior and under-21 national teams. A great career was predicted for him early on, but recurring injuries prevented him from fulfilling that promise. His dangerous forward runs from the back led to comparisons with Ronald Koeman, the Dutch defender who was hugely popular at the time.

After retiring he worked as a coach and has often been called up to Galatasaray's veterans side for charity fixtures. In 2010 he took part in the launch of the Galatasaray football school opened in Torbalı, and he has remained a familiar figure at sporting and public events in his home district.
