Ferhat Göçer — Biography
Ferhat Göçer (born 11 May 1970 in Birecik, Şanlıurfa) is a Turkish pop singer, songwriter, opera singer and physician. The eldest son of a family of Kurdish origin, he was born in Birecik and raised in İzmit, beginning his schooling at the age of four at his parents' request.
After graduating from İzmit High School in 1985, he won a scholarship to the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. In 1988 he enrolled in the singing department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory and later worked under contract with the State Opera and Ballet. He launched his pop music career in 2002.
From November 2012 to May 2014 he served as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador for Turkey. In 2017 he retired from medicine after 25 years, while continuing his musical career with concerts and new releases such as "Kalbimin Orta Yeri" (2026).
