Fedail Güler — Biography

Fedail Güler (born 1972 in Bulgaria) is a former Turkish weightlifter who competed in the lightweight (70 kg) division and became a world and European champion. At the 1994 World Weightlifting Championships he won gold with a 160 kg snatch and a 350 kg total, both world records at the time, following it up with a silver medal at the same event the next year.

He also won silver at the 1994 European Weightlifting Championships and gold in 1995, finishing his career with two gold and two silver medals at major international events. In 2019, together with open-water swimmer Petar Stoychev, he was granted honorary citizenship of Momchilgrad, the Bulgarian town of his home region, in recognition of his sporting achievements.
