Faruk Sağnak — Biography

Faruk Yakup Sağnak was born on 19 February 1924 in Istanbul and spent his entire playing career at Beşiktaş J.K., turning out for the club from 1943 to 1955. He also earned caps for the Turkish national team, and his stubborn, never-say-die style on the pitch earned him the nickname "Keçi Faruk" among supporters.

After hanging up his boots, Sağnak stayed within the Beşiktaş community and went on to serve the club in an administrative capacity. He died on 23 February 2012, an event marked by memorial ceremonies within the Beşiktaş community, with the club's own channels and the press of the day remembering him as one of its legendary figures.
