Fahrettin Koca (Sağlık Bakanı) — Biography

Fahrettin Koca was born in 1965 in Konya. Koca, who completed his primary and secondary education in Konya, finished high school at Bursa Boys' High School. He completed his university education in the Department of Pediatrics (Child Health and Diseases) at the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine of İstanbul University. Fahrettin Koca, the founder of Medipol Hospital, İstanbul Medipol University and the Türkiye Education and Health Research Foundation, served as medical director and physician at many health institutions. He is a member of the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Health Professional Committee, the Turkish Pediatrics Institution, the Pediatric Metabolism and Nutrition Association, and the Association of Private Hospitals and Health Institutions. He also held the positions of chairman of the Foundation University Hospitals Association and the Health Services Committee of the Service Exporters' Association, and vice-chairman of the Business Council of the Education Committee of the Foreign Economic Relations Board. He took office as the 59th Minister of Health on 10 July 2018 by the appointment of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Fahrettin Koca is married to Hale Koca and is the father of four children.
