Born on 2 October 1981 in Uniontown, Alabama, Erwin Dudley is an American-born basketball player who later took Turkish citizenship under the name Ersin Dağlı. His college career at the University of Alabama left a lasting mark on the program: he was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and an all-conference selection in 2002, led the conference in rebounding three years running, set a school record with 129 consecutive starts, and finished his career seventh on Alabama's all-time scoring list (1,764 points) and fourth in rebounds (1,184), earning the nickname "E-Double-Double" for his 43 career double-doubles.

Dudley began his professional career with Israel's Maccabi Rishon LeZion in 2004-05 before moving to Türk Telekom in Turkey, where five successful seasons led him to obtain Turkish citizenship and adopt the name Ersin Dağlı. He signed with Efes Pilsen in July 2010, then joined Beşiktaş ahead of the 2011-12 season, winning three trophies under coach Ergin Ataman. He followed Ataman to Galatasaray Medical Park in 2012-13 for one of the best campaigns of his career, stayed with the club in 2013-14 despite limited playing time due to injury, signed with Darüşşafaka under former coach Oktay Mahmuti in 2014-15, and later played for Sakarya BB.
