Ertan Adatepe — Biography

Ertan Adatepe is a former forward from Ankara, remembered as one of the most effective Turkish goalscorers of the 1960s. His name is tied above all to MKE Ankaragücü, where he is counted among the club's emblematic players. With 126 Süper Lig goals he still stands 18th, inside the top twenty, on the league's all-time scoring list.

He wore the shirts of Ankaragücü and PTT in the 1950s and 1960s, playing as a right inside forward and in the front line. His breakthrough came at Ankaragücü: 20 goals in 26 matches in 1965-66 and 18 goals in 28 matches the following season made him the Süper Lig's top scorer two years running. Later in his career he moved to Göztepe, where he was part of a side that reached places in Europe then considered a dream for a Turkish club. Galatasaray is also among the clubs he played for. In all he scored 126 goals in 284 league matches.

He was capped seven times across national teams: five times for the under-18s, once for the B team and once for the senior side, whose only match was a 0-0 friendly with Ethiopia. He scored three goals for the national teams.
