Erkan Meriç — Biography

Erkan Meriç was born on July 26, 1986, in Adana, completed primary and secondary school in Mersin, and graduated from Mersin University's Electronic Automation Department in 2008. After university, encouraged by his family, he signed with a modeling agency: he was named Best Photo Model at the 2008 Best Model of Turkey contest, won the title outright the following year, and went on to represent Turkey at the Best Model of the World pageant in Bulgaria, where he took first place -- becoming only the third Turkish man, after Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, to hold that world title. Before turning to acting he also spent five years as a professional goalkeeper, and made his television debut in the 2014 series Beyaz Karanfil. Following a role in Bedel, he played Ömer in the 2016 TRT series Adını Sen Koy, co-starring with Hazal Subaşı.

His relationship with co-star Yağmur Öztürk, which began on the set of the series Yazgı, led to their engagement in late 2025 and marriage in April 2026. He has continued acting in newer series projects such as Gayriresmi and Espiyonaj.
