Erhan Güleryüz — Biography

Samim Erhan Güleryüz (born 13 January 1966 in Istanbul) is a Turkish musician, singer and producer. Born in the Bostancı neighbourhood, he was raised in Büyükçekmece from the age of two and completed his schooling there. He entered university at the unusually young age of sixteen, and while studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Dokuz Eylül University he formed his first rock band and began performing concerts.

He released his first solo album, Güller Açtı, in 1992, and used the earnings from an arabesque-style album released in 1996 to finance the founding of the band Ayna together with several friends. Ayna's debut album Gittiğin Yağmurla Gel brought wide acclaim, earning the group a Best Group award at the Kral TV Video Music Awards; Ayna also became the first music group in Turkey to surpass one million in sales.

In 2002 he founded the production company Rüzgar Yapım, producing and arranging many albums. He presented radio and television programmes such as Aynadan Yansıyanlar on TRT, published poetry collections, and composed music for television series and films. In 2015 he directed, wrote, scored and starred in the feature film İçimde Akan Nehir. In later years he continued performing, including projects marking Ayna's 30th anniversary.
