Eren Şen — Biography

Eren Şen is a footballer born in Hamburg who holds both German and Turkish citizenship. He came through the youth ranks of Hamburger SV, made his professional debut with the club in 2003 and won the DFL-Ligapokal with the team that year. With FC Thun in Switzerland he also played in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup, and he spent the later part of his career in Turkey.

He began in the youth setup of FSV Harburg, then played in the youth ranks of FC St. Pauli and Hamburger SV. Both the German and the Turkish youth national teams called him up, and he chose Germany, making three appearances for the under-19 side and scoring once. After Thun he moved to Konyaspor in 2006 and stayed until 2009. He then joined Diyarbakırspor, but a long injury and the club's financial troubles limited him to seven matches.

He went back to Germany for treatment and rehabilitation and trained with Hamburger SV II to stay fit. He signed with the Regionalliga Nord side 1. FC Magdeburg on a contract running to 2011, with an option for one more year, but both sides were unhappy with the situation and it was dissolved in December. At the start of the 2010-2011 season he was playing for Mersin İdman Yurdu, and İstanbulspor is also among his clubs.
