Erdinç Yavuz — Biography
Erdinç Yavuz was born on 4 October 1978 in Kayseri and became a Turkish former footballer who played as a central defender, known for his ability to score headers from corners. He began playing at the Kayseri amateur club Ağırnas Şimşekspor, and after three seasons there took a year away from football, during which his coach Fehmi Kuş helped him take part in national-team trials. He signed his first professional contract with Kayseri Erciyesspor, then played for Hatayspor and Kayserispor.
He moved to Trabzonspor in 2002, winning the Turkish Cup with the club in 2002-03 and 2003-04. In the 2006-07 season he had two loan spells at Sakaryaspor, returning to Trabzonspor each time, and was called up to the Turkey national team on the back of his form, though he never earned a senior cap. He rejoined Kayseri Erciyesspor in 2008-09, then played for Diyarbakırspor in 2009-10; after that club's relegation he moved to Konyaspor, then newly promoted to the Süper Lig.
At Konyaspor he spent many years and rose to become team captain, renewing his contract in 2011 and remaining a key figure in the Torku Konyaspor Süper Lig squad until leaving the club in 2014. During his career he also made headlines in 2007 with strongly worded remarks about being left out of the national team.
