Enis Esmer — Biography

Enis Esmer, internationally known by the stage name Ennis Esmer, was born on December 29, 1978, in Ankara and moved to Canada with his family when he was only three years old. After studying at York University, he began his acting career in 2003 with the short-lived series The Toronto Show, gradually building a reputation as a Turkish-Canadian actor, comedian, voice actor, screenwriter and producer.

Esmer reached wide audiences on Canadian television through roles such as Osman "Oz" Bey in The Listener, Nash in Red Oaks, and Kurtis "Maz" Mazhari in Private Eyes. His portrayal of Rich Dotcom in Blindspot, a character written specifically for him, became one of the most recognized roles of his career. He has also been honored with a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Performance by a Male in a film role.
