Emre Bayav — Biography

Emre Bayav was born on 14 July 1987 in the Kurtuluş neighborhood of Şişli, Istanbul. Standing 2.12 meters tall, he played as a power forward and center, beginning his professional career in 2006. Despite playing in the post, he was known for hitting clutch three-pointers and was regarded as one of Turkish basketball's best shot-blockers.

Over the course of his career he played for clubs including Karşıyaka and Beşiktaş, and was part of the Turkish national team squad that won gold at the 2013 Mediterranean Games. The son of former national basketball player Engin Bayav, he last played in the Turkish Basketball Super League with Beşiktaş.
