Emre Aygün — Biography

Emre Aygün is a forward who grew up in Trabzon. He came through the Trabzonspor academy and played in the Süper Lig at 17, and in 2004 he was part of the Turkey U19 side that finished runners-up at the European Under-19 Championship. Most of his professional career was then spent at lower-league clubs in Anatolia and in Ankara.

He started in the youth setup of the amateur side 24 Şubatspor in Trabzon and joined Trabzonspor in 2000. He signed a professional contract in 2003 and stepped up to the first team, making his Süper Lig debut on 27 April 2003 against Göztepe. He managed only five league games for Trabzonspor and was loaned to Yozgatspor and Akçaabat Sebatspor to gain experience. He later moved to Akçaabat Sebatspor on a permanent deal, spent a spell on loan at Orduspor and came back to Sebatspor, playing in the second and third tiers of Turkish football in those years.

In June 2009, after those years around Akçaabat, he returned to the top flight for 2009-10 by signing with MKE Ankaragücü, scoring three goals in ten league games. He left at the end of the season for Eskişehirspor, then after half a season agreed with the club to terminate his contract and transferred to Gençlerbirliği. At youth level he played for Turkey's U18 and U19 national teams and scored for them.
