Emre Aydın — Biography
Emre Aydın (born 2 February 1981 in Isparta) is a Turkish rock singer-songwriter. His family later settled in Antalya; after graduating from Antalya Anadolu High School, he studied economics at Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir.
In 2002 he won the Sing Your Song contest with his band 6. Cadde and the song "Dönersen". The band released its first album in 2003, but Aydın left the same year to pursue a solo career. His first solo album, Afili Yalnızlık (2006), released by Sony BMG and GRGDN, became a major success in Turkey, its title track topping the charts. In 2008 he won the MTV Europe Music Award for Europe's Favourite Act.
Beyond music, he appeared in the 2008 film İki Dil Bir Bavul and composed music for feature films. Known as one of Turkey's most prolific live performers — he gave 130 concerts in 2007 alone — he remains active on stage.
