Emrah Tuncel — Biography

Born in Malatya, goalkeeper Emrah Tuncel came up through the youth system of his hometown club Malatyaspor, spent five seasons at Akhisar Belediyespor in the First League and then carried on in Anatolia's lower divisions. In 2024 he made the news as the goalkeeper who conceded the fewest goals in a regional amateur league season.

He started at the youth setup of Battalgazi Belediyespor and then moved to Malatyaspor. He signed a professional contract in 2004 but played for the reserve side for two seasons; he joined the first-team squad in 2006-07 and made his first official appearance on 26 April 2009 against İstanbul BB in the First League. When Malatyaspor dropped to the Second League at the end of 2008-09 he left for First League side Boluspor, where he was mostly the second keeper in his first season; in his second he was loaned to Adana Demirspor, and in the winter transfer window of 2010-11 he moved to Second League side Tarsus İdman Yurdu. At the start of 2011-12 he joined First League club Akhisar Belediyespor, but with few chances in the first team he transferred to Şanlıurfaspor in the middle of 2015-16, and he and Akhisar officially parted ways in January 2016. He played for Ankaragücü in 2016-17 and joined Manisaspor in January 2017. Later he turned out for lower-league sides such as Ceyhanspor and Adana 1954.

He was called up once to the Turkey U-21 team and played in one match.
