Elvin Ekşioğlu — Biography

Elvin Ekşioğlu is an Istanbul-born image-maker who brings photography, documentary film and commercial directing under one roof. She is a co-founder of both a news agency and an international production company, and most recently drew attention with a solo photography exhibition in 2026.

Her education came in two stages: she studied photography at Yıldız Technical University and cinema and television at Marmara University's Faculty of Fine Arts. Between 1989 and 1992 she worked for the magazines Tempo, Aktüel, Cosmopolitan and Oto Haber. In 1993 she opened the photography exhibition "Kizkulesi'ne Dokunmak" at Maiden's Tower, and in November of that year she founded the news agency Agency Europe & Anatolia with Abdullah Ekşioğlu. In 1998, again with him, she founded Eksantrik Production, and her book Sevgiyle Bütünlenen Yaşam was published the same year. She serves as commercials director at the company and editor in chief at the agency.

In cinema, her best-known work is the pair of 2011 documentaries FM 1992 and Suya Yazılan Tarih, and international film databases list her under producer, director and camera-department credits. In March 2026 she opened a solo exhibition, "Geride Kalanlar", at the Nevmekan Bağlarbaşı gallery. She also presents her work on her own website.
