Elif Altınkaynak — Biography

Elif Altınkaynak Çahlıyan was born on August 20, 1974, in Isparta. Competing in the recurve category, she represented Turkey at two Olympic Games: at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics she placed fourth in both the individual and team events, and at the 2000 Sydney Olympics she again finished fourth with the Turkish team.

Beyond the Olympics, she built a consistent record on the international circuit, winning medals at the 1995 and 1997 Outdoor Archery World Championships and the 1999 and 2003 Indoor Archery World Championships. She also collected three medals at the Outdoor European Archery Championships between 1994 and 2000 and one at the 1998 Indoor European Archery Championship, establishing herself as one of the leading figures of Turkish archery through the 1990s and 2000s.
