Ekrem Memnun — Biography
Ekrem Memnun is a Turkish basketball coach best known for his work with the Galatasaray women's team, which he led to the EuroLeague Women title in 2014. In February 2026 he took over Çimsa ÇBK Mersin and guided the team to the Women's Eurocup championship in April 2026.
After playing, he moved into coaching, starting in Galatasaray's youth setup in 1988 and also assisting the women's team. He spent three years at Yıldırımspor from 1992 and came back to Galatasaray as an assistant in 1995. From 1996 to 2002 he was head coach of the women's team, winning third place in the EuroLeague Women in 1998-1999 along with three league titles, three Presidential Cups and two Turkish Cups. Later he coached Sigal Prishtina in Kosovo (a regular-season lead and three cups), worked as an assistant at Efes Pilsen and became head coach of Darüşşafaka. Returning to Galatasaray's women in June 2012, he won the league after a 14-year gap and, in April 2014, beat Fenerbahçe in the final to take the European title.
He coached the Turkish women's national team in 2015-2018 and again in 2022-2025; Turkey finished fifth at the 2015 and 2017 European Championships. He also worked with the Galatasaray men's team and Çukurova Basketbol, and in 2024 returned to Galatasaray for a fourth time before parting ways with the club by mutual agreement in November 2025.
