Ece Üner — Biography

Born Özge Ece Üner on 21 July 1981 in Istanbul, she is the daughter of Dinç Üner, a former general manager at CNN Türk. After Koç private high school she graduated from Koç University's sociology program in 2003, went on to study French at the Sorbonne in Paris and European affairs in Brussels, and topped her class at a broadcasting school. She entered journalism in 2002 as an NTV correspondent covering diplomacy and economics, later moving to Star TV and then to CNN Türk's sports desk, before shifting into news presenting at CNN Türk in 2007 and joining Habertürk TV in 2009, where she fronted a series of discussion and news programs.

From 2014 she anchored Show TV's main news bulletin across several stints, hosted a crime-focused show on Kanal D in 2021, and later appeared on TV100 and Sözcü TV before taking over Halk TV's main news bulletin in mid-2024, a role she still holds. A competitive athlete for around twelve years in her youth, she married fellow journalist Deniz Bayramoğlu in 2013. In July 2026 she testified as a witness in an investigation into the Ahbap Association, saying her earlier remarks had carried no ill intent.
