Ece Türkoğlu — Biography
Ece Türkoğlu is a midfielder in Turkish women's football and today the captain of Fenerbahçe and a regular in the senior national team. She was born in the village of İmranlar in Karadeniz Ereğli, Zonguldak, started out at her hometown club and rose to the top level of the league. In 2025-26 she won the Women's Super League title with Fenerbahçe.
Her career reads in three main phases. The first was Kdz. Ereğlispor: she took her licence there in 2011, played a season in the First League in 2011-12, won the girls' U-15 Turkish championship with the club's newly formed youth side in 2013 and later captained it in the First League. In the second phase she won the First League with Ataşehir Belediyespor in 2017-18, then played for Fatih Karagümrük, who finished runners-up in the Super League in 2021-22; she wore number 10 and was captain in 2022-23. The third phase began with her transfer to Fenerbahçe in December 2023. In 2019 she also went to the United States, signing with Old Dominion University.
Her national-team path started just as early: she scored on her U-15 debut against Belarus in 2011, played 18 matches for the U-17s and 30 for the U-19s, and was in the U-19 squad that won the 2016 UEFA Development Tournament. She made her senior debut in Euro 2017 qualifying against Hungary, scoring in that first match, and has scored again in later qualifiers and in the Nations League.
