Ece Seçkin — Biography

Ece Seçkin was born on 12 September 1991 in Istanbul as the only child of a family of Crimean Tatar descent. Introduced to music at the age of three by her mother, piano teacher Lale Seçkin, she placed first in the conservatory entrance exam for the piano department at the age of seven and trained in ballet and dance for about eight years. In high school she fronted a band she founded herself, earned distinctions in competitions, and from 2006 took private vocal lessons with Levent Arslan. She entered Bahçeşehir University's law faculty in 2010, and meeting producer Ozan Doğulu in 2011 proved to be the turning point of her career.

She made her professional debut in October 2012 with the album Bu Ne Yaa on Doğulu Production, and in 2013 was named Best New Female Artist at the 40th Altın Kelebek Awards, the youngest singer ever to receive that honor. Songs such as Şok Oldum, Aman Aman, Hoş Geldin Ayrılığa, Adeyyo and Olsun brought her a mass audience, with several videos surpassing a hundred million views. She also recorded international duets, including Nos Fuimos Lejos with Descemer Bueno and Enrique Iglesias, and released singles from her album Spektrum in 2024. Beyond music, she appeared in the television series Paramparça and the film Cumali Ceber: Allah Seni Alsın.

Seçkin married Çağrı Terlemez on 15 September 2021. In 2026, after news broke that she was expecting a baby, she paused her concert schedule on her doctor's advice.
