Ece Erken — Biography

Ece Erken was born on 11 May 1978 in Çorlu, a town in Tekirdağ province. Because her father was an army officer, her childhood was spent in several cities including Ağrı, Ankara and Cyprus, and she finished school at Istanbul's Beşiktaş Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi. She began broadcasting at 12 on a radio station in Cyprus, then worked at stations in Ankara and Istanbul before moving into television with Star TV.

She became known through the four seasons of the "Klip" music programs on Show TV, took the lead in the series Nilgün on TGRT in 2000, appeared in Aşk ve Gurur in 2002, and won wide popularity playing Nil in the 2003 series Lise Defteri. She went on to host numerous programs, including Mavi Şeker and Enbeyaz Geceler on ATV, Aç Aç Kazan on FOX, Hayata Gülerken with Davut Güloğlu on Kanaltürk, Tatlım Benim and Söylemezsen Olmaz on Beyaz TV, and İyi Fikir on TRT 1. She currently presents Mevzu Gündem on KRT TV and a Sunday program, Kahve Molası, on TRT Türk.

She was married to Tuncer Öztarhan from 2008 to 2009 and later married Serkan Uçar, with whom she had a son, Eymen. Her husband from 2021, lawyer and former Beşiktaş executive Şafak Mahmutyazıcıoğlu, died in January 2022 after an armed attack.
