Ebubekir Öztürk — Biography

Ebubekir Öztürk was born on 1 February 1978 in Istanbul. His family had moved from Ağrı to the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul in 1965. He did his military service in Şırnak, where a fellow conscript introduced him to the actor Şafak Sezer; from 1998 he worked as Sezer's driver. During those years Sezer persuaded him to take a part in the film Kutsal Damacana, which marked his start in acting.

He became widely known as "Ganyotçu" in Kolpaçino, which starred Sezer, and in its sequel Kolpaçino: Bomba; the character carried on into later films of the series. In 2010 he again appeared alongside Sezer in the television series Hanımeli Sokağı, playing Ali Kunduz. More recently he has been seen in the historical series Fetihler Sultanı in the role of Çopur.
