Doğucan Haspolat — Biography

Doğucan Haspolat was born on 11 February 2000 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and began playing football at age five in Excelsior's youth ranks. Working his way up through the age groups to the first team, the midfielder made his Eredivisie debut against Feyenoord on 27 August 2016, coming on in the 70th minute and becoming the first player born in 2000 to appear in the league.

He drew attention with fourteen league appearances in the 2018-19 season, a period in which he was linked with both Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe. On 13 January 2020 he signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Kasımpaşa, making his debut for the club against Trabzonspor on 19 January 2020. He later moved to Trabzonspor itself before joining Belgian Pro League side Westerlo in September 2023, where he has played ever since.

Although born and raised in the Netherlands, Haspolat chose to represent Turkey internationally and has said his goal is to earn a place in the senior national team.
