Dilara Gönder — Biography

Dilara Gönder was born on June 17, 1983, in Herrenberg, Germany. After graduating from İzmir Bornova Anadolu High School, she completed her studies in the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of the Faculty of Communication at Yeditepe University. While still a student, she took her first step into media with "DinleBul," a campus radio program that won first place in the radio category of the Aydın Doğan Foundation's 2007 Young Communicators Competition.

She began her presenting career with the MusicBox program on Fenerbahçe TV, then moved to Lig TV in 2007, where she spent two and a half years and covered Formula 1 races on location for TRT. In 2010 she joined NTV Spor, and later hosted NTV's "Zor İşler," in which she personally tried out demanding professions, as well as "Yeter ki İste," a program built around inspiring success stories; in 2015 she also presented the word game show "Lingo" on NTV and E2. Fluent in German and English, Gönder made her acting debut in 2014 with the lead role in Kanal D's "Ne Diyosuun," and soon after played the character Gizem Dereli in Star TV's series Sil Baştan.

She married Selim Yalın in December 2016. From August 2021 she anchored Show TV's main evening newscast, stepping down in February 2023 after publicly reacting on air to remarks made in the aftermath of the earthquake.
