Detlef Müller — Biography
Detlef Müller was born on 21 May 1965 in Duisburg, Germany. After building a career as a goalkeeper, he was naturalized as a Turkish citizen and continued his footballing life under the name Metin Mert.
Over the course of his playing days he appeared for German clubs including Bochum and Westfalia Herne as well as Turkish sides such as Trabzonspor, Sarıyer, Kocaelispor, Konyaspor, and Antalyaspor. Following his retirement as a player, he moved into coaching, working as a goalkeeping coach, and he is remembered among the longer-serving foreign-born footballers in Turkish football.
