Deniz Dilmen — Biography

Deniz Dilmen is one of İstanbul Başakşehir's young goalkeepers and is best known for becoming the club's youngest ever goalkeeper to make a debut. Born in 2005, he came up through the Başakşehir academy to the senior side very early, and he has also played for Turkey's youth national teams. He has kept to the goalkeeper position throughout, and after his Süper Lig debut he also spent a season playing in the second tier.

Dilmen started out in the youth ranks of Küçükköyspor and Haliç Spor before joining Başakşehir's academy in 2018. On 2 July 2021 he signed his first professional contract with the club, for three years. On 3 June 2023 he played his first match for Başakşehir, a 3-2 Süper Lig win over Adana Demirspor, and so became the club's youngest goalkeeper. On 3 August of that year he extended his contract until 2027. In 2025-26 he spent the season on loan from his club at TFF 1. Lig side Pendikspor; he then returned to Başakşehir and was included in the squad for the club's 2026-27 UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds.

Dilmen has represented Turkey at under-17 and under-19 level, and was called up to the under-21 national team in March 2024. He was born in the Eminönü district of İstanbul.
