Deniz Cengiz — Biography
Deniz Cengiz was born on 4 August 1989 in İstanbul. A graduate of the Acting Department at İstanbul Kültür University, she became known for the comedy sketches she posted on her YouTube channel Kılavuzu Karga, which caught the attention of writer Gülse Birsel.
After working as a humor writer for Beyaz Show during the 2017-2018 season, Cengiz made her acting debut in 2018 as İlayda in the series Jet Sosyete, whose cast included Çağlar Çorumlu, Sarp Apak and Cengiz Bozkurt. That same year she also entered cinema with a role in the film Deliha 2.
She has since moved into writing and directing as well: her first short film, Kaçanlar, which she wrote and directed in 2024, was a finalist at the 31st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival and won the Best Acting award at the 3rd Kaş Film Festival.
