Demir Kaan — Biography

Demir Kaan (born Damir Mršić; born 25 October 1970 in Tuzla) is a retired Bosnian-born basketball player and coach. He acquired Turkish citizenship in 2003 and played under his Turkish name, becoming known as a point guard with a standout three-point shot.

In Turkey he started out at Netaş before joining Tuborg, where he played across two spells totaling four seasons. He moved to Fenerbahçe for the 2001-02 season, spent a year in the Russian league, then returned to the club, by then renamed Fenerbahçe Ülker, for a further six seasons in which he also served as team captain. At international level he had played as a point guard for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team since 1999.

He announced his retirement from playing on 25 July 2010 and subsequently spent two years as Fenerbahçe Ülker's team manager before stepping down from that role in 2012.
