Demir Ege Tıknaz — Biography

Born on 17 August 2004 in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Demir Ege Tıknaz is a 1.93-metre-tall midfielder. He joined Beşiktaş's academy in 2014, worked his way through the various youth levels, signed a professional contract with the club in 2021, and was promoted to the first-team squad that same season. A torn cruciate ligament in 2022 ended his season early; once recovered, he made his official debut in the UEFA Conference League during the 2023-24 campaign, after which he went on loan to the Portuguese side Rio Ave.

Having renewed his Beşiktaş deal through the 2027-28 season, he moved to Braga in the winter of the 2025-26 season, was named man of the match on his first start for the club, and scored against Freiburg in May 2026. Having come through Turkey's youth setups at under-14, under-18 and under-19 level, he was also called up to the senior national team, though he and teammate Aral Şimşir left one training camp early in June 2026.
