Born Dilnarin Demirbağ on 14 November 1973 in the village of Gülçatı (Kirvan) near Kovancılar, Elazığ, Dee Demirbağ comes from a Kurdish family. While she was still young, her family left Turkey and settled in Sweden, where she went on to build her career in music and dance.
