Cumhur Yılmaztürk — Biography

Cumhur Yılmaztürk is a defensive midfielder who came through the Galatasaray academy, played in the Süper Lig for Galatasaray and then spent his later years with lower-division clubs. Born in Bakırköy, his career runs from one of Turkish football's biggest clubs down to its lower tiers.

He began in the Terazidere youth system, joined the Galatasaray academy in 2003 and played there until 2009. After his professional contract he moved up to the A2 team, where Frank Rijkaard and his assistant Johan Neeskens watched him and brought him into the first-team squad for some official matches. He made his Süper Lig debut on 16 May 2010, starting against Gençlerbirliği. At the start of 2011-12 he transferred to First League side Çaykur Rizespor.

After that he moved around the TFF Second and Third League. He joined Fethiyespor in January 2019 and agreed terms with İnegölspor in July 2019; he later also wore the shirts of Adıyaman FK and Niğde Anadolu.
