Colin Kâzım-Richards — Biography
Colin Kâzım-Richards, widely known in Turkey as Kâzım Kâzım, was born on 26 August 1986 in Leytonstone, England, and built a career as a forward before moving into coaching. Qualifying for Turkish citizenship through his mother's Cypriot Turkish heritage, he came up through the youth ranks at Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal before turning professional with Bury.
In England he went on to play for Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Celtic and Derby County, while his European spells took in Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Bursaspor, Fatih Karagümrük, Toulouse, Olympiacos and Feyenoord. Four years of his career were spent in Latin America with Coritiba, Corinthians, Lobos BUAP, Veracruz and Pachuca.
Between 2007 and 2015 he earned 37 caps and scored twice for the Turkey national team. After hanging up his boots, Kâzım-Richards moved into management, and since March 2026 he has served as head coach of Crawley Town in England's fourth-tier EFL League Two.
