Ceyhun Gülselam — Biography

Ceyhun Gülselam was born in Munich on 25 December 1987 to a father from Istanbul and a mother from Sakarya, and took up football at the age of six with a small neighbourhood club in the city. Scouts from Bayern Munich spotted him at a tournament and brought him into their academy, where he spent eight years before moving on to SpVgg Unterhaching. Standing 1.92 metres tall, a build that also suited him for defensive duty, he first turned out for Turkey's youth national side and then, during the 2007-08 season, won a senior cap under coach Fatih Terim in a friendly against Belarus, before transferring to Trabzonspor and relocating to Turkey.

The German-born player went on to represent several other clubs over the following years and has long played for Second Division side Altay. At the start of 2026, despite the severe financial troubles facing the club, he chose not to exercise his right to end his contract early and stayed on. His long-term future at Altay remained unsettled as the club's administrative problems continued into the summer.
