Ceyhun Gülselam — Biography

Ceyhun Gülselam is a Munich-born Turkish international who plays as a defensive midfielder and centre-back. He won cups with Trabzonspor and Galatasaray and the 2011-12 Süper Lig title with Galatasaray. Since 2021 he has played for the second-tier club Altay.

He started football at six with SV Gartenstadt Trudering in Munich's Trudering district. Bayern Munich scouts noticed him at a tournament, and he spent eight years in the club's youth teams. He moved to SpVgg Unterhaching in 2003, stepped up to the first team in 2007 and scored 6 goals in 38 games over a year and a half. In March 2008, called up by Fatih Terim, he won his first senior cap in a friendly against Belarus; his first appearance for the Turkey under-21 side had come in February 2007.

On 13 May 2008 he signed a 3+1-year contract with Trabzonspor, with whom he won the 2009-10 Turkish Cup and the 2010 Super Cup. In June 2011 he joined Galatasaray on a free transfer, winning the 2011-12 league title, the 2012 and 2013 Super Cups and the 2013-14 Turkish Cup. He was loaned to Kayserispor in January 2013. He went to Hannover 96 in July 2014 and left in 2017, then joined Osmanlıspor and Alanyaspor in 2018. He transferred to Altay in July 2021 and stayed when the team dropped to the second division. In summer 2026, with the club in difficulty, his future was uncertain.
