Cevat Seyit — Biography

Cevat Seyit (17 July 1906, Istanbul – 23 November 1945) was a Turkish international footballer and one of the key figures of Fenerbahçe's successful era in the 1920s and 1930s. He joined Fenerbahçe's youth setup in 1920, and his performances in midfield and at right-back saw him promoted to the first team at just 14.

Seyit played for Fenerbahçe without interruption for 14 seasons, from 1925 to 1939, never wearing another club's colors; he made 252 appearances and scored 6 goals for the yellow-and-navy side, placing him among the longest-serving players in the club's history. During that time he won a total of 12 titles with Fenerbahçe, including five Istanbul Football League championships, two Turkish Football Championships, one National Division title, and four Istanbul Shield titles.

He earned his first national team cap in a friendly against Bulgaria on 17 July 1927, going on to make five appearances for Turkey through 1932, and represented his country at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.
