Çetin Zeybek — Biography
Çetin Zeybek was a midfielder who played for Feriköy and Kasımpaşa in the 1950s and 1960s and is best known for being in the squad for the 1954 FIFA World Cup. He was part of Turkey's squad at that tournament and played in two matches; he is said to have won five caps for the senior national team in all. His many years at Kasımpaşa left him closely associated with that club. He stood 1.83 m tall.
He was forced to give up football through injury. He then returned to his hometown of Bandırma and worked for the development of the game there. In 1965 he was among those who founded Bandırmaspor together with other prominent people of the city, and for many years he served on the club's board as general captain.
He died in Bandırma on 10 November 1990 and is buried there. He continues to be remembered on the anniversary of his death, both in Bandırma and by the Turkish Football Federation.
