Çetin Topçuoğlu — Biography
Çetin Topçuoğlu was a Turkish taekwondo practitioner, born on 1 May 1956 in Adana. His wife, Çiğdem Topçuoğlu, was also an accomplished taekwondo athlete.
On 31 May 2010, he was among nine people killed when Israeli forces raided the Mavi Marmara, a ship carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, in international waters of the Mediterranean Sea; Turkish media frequently referred to him as one of the "Mavi Marmara martyrs." His wife, Çiğdem Topçuoğlu, died fifteen years later, in May 2025.
