Cenk Renda — Biography

Cenk Renda (born 11 October 1969) is a former Turkish basketball player who went on to work as a coach and club administrator. He came up through the Efes Pilsen youth system, breaking into the first team in the 1985-86 season, and built a reputation at center as a strong rebounder with tough on-ball defense against opposing scorers. The high point of his club career came after his move to Fenerbahçe, champions of the Turkish league in 1990-91; over the following years with the club, through 1995, he collected a President's Cup title and reached multiple playoff finals.

Renda was also a longtime member of the Turkish national team, and after a twelve-year gap he was part of the squad that returned Turkey to the EuroBasket stage in 1993. He closed out his playing career with Oyak Renault in the 1995-96 season, but stayed close to the game afterward, taking on coaching roles at Fenerbahçe and serving as an assistant to head coach Bogdan Tanjević during the 2009-10 season.

After retiring as a player, Renda moved into administrative work within Fenerbahçe's basketball organization, a role in which he has remained closely associated with the club for many years, including at events bringing together former teammates and younger players.
