Çağrı Şensoy — Biography

Turkish actor Çağrı Şensoy, who moved from the theatre stage to television, is best known as Cerkutay in Kuruluş: Osman, a role he took on in 2019. In the follow-up series Kuruluş: Orhan he has appeared as Cerkutay Bey since October 2025. Alongside acting he also works as a director, and he speaks English and German.

His training was artistic from the start: he studied theatre at Pera Fine Arts High School, completed the acting programme of the Istanbul University State Conservatory and went on to a master's in film and drama at Kadir Has University. He first appeared on stage in 2002 and spent four years with Tiyatro Kedi, joined the Kenter Theatre between 2009 and 2012 for Cimri and Ölümüne, and in 2012 played Doctor Livov in the Istanbul State Theatre production Çehov Makinesi. His first television step came in 2006 with Sıla; afterwards he was seen in series such as Ölüm Çiçekleri, Kavak Yelleri, Çakıl Taşları, Mazi Kalbimde Yaradır, Meddah and 46 Yok Olan.

His move into historical productions began with Deli Hüseyin Pasha in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem, while Lieutenant Kürşat Kınık in Savaşçı (2017-2018) earned him audience appreciation. In 2023 he married fellow actor Buse Arslan, whom he met on the set of Kuruluş: Osman, in Bolu.
