Çağıl Özge Özkul — Biography

Crowned Miss Universe Turkey in 2012, Çağıl Özge Özkul represented her country at that year's Miss Universe final in Las Vegas and then made the move from beauty pageants to sports television. Since then she has worked in football and sports broadcasting, and she now presents on S Sport and on the programme Socrates.

Born in the Çankaya district of Ankara, Özkul studied economics at Atılım University. She worked as a model and won the Miss Universe Turkey title at the Miss Turkey 2012 final, held at the Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Center in Istanbul on 31 May 2012. At Miss Universe in Las Vegas on 19 December that year she reached the top 16, a placing described as ending a 22-year drought for Turkey.

After the pageant she turned to screen presenting. She worked for a time as an announcer on GS TV, Galatasaray's club channel, and joined beIN Sports Türkiye in early 2017, leaving that channel in September 2020; the press had announced the move as the channel's first announcer signing and the arrival of a former Turkish beauty queen. She then moved to S Sport and presented on Socrates, with coverage that includes Formula 1 and basketball. Together with Sergen Yalçın and Candaş Tolga Işık she also hosts the programme Falso on Kafa Sports.
