Çağatay Yılmaz — Biography

Çağatay Yılmaz is a Turkish footballer who came through Bursaspor's youth system and rose to the club's Süper Lig squad, playing as a winger and forward. He stood out for his goals in the youth sides, captained them, and was called up many times to Turkey's youth national teams at various age levels. He now wears the shirt of TFF 3. Lig side Karadeniz Ereğli Belediyespor.

He began playing in 2011 at İnegölspor and carried on as an amateur at Bursaspor. He signed his first professional contract with the club on 26 March 2018, alongside Burak Kapacak and İsmail Çokçalış, and on 18 May of that year he made his professional debut in a 1-0 Süper Lig defeat to Gençlerbirliği. In the years that followed he played on loan for Kırşehir Futbol Spor Kulübü, Amed Sportif Faaliyetler and Niğde Anadolu FK. His Bursaspor contract was extended in August 2023 to run until 2026. In November 2023 he said the team, then playing in the 2. Lig, was aiming for the play-offs.

After the on-field incidents in the Bursaspor-Diyarbekirspor match of 20 December 2023, in which he was regarded as one of the main figures, the club management removed him from the squad indefinitely. On leaving Bursaspor in July 2024 he said the club would always hold a special place in his heart; he joined Karşıyaka in September 2024. He then carried on in the third tier with Karadeniz Ereğli Belediyespor, for whom he appeared as a winger in the 2025 season.
