Cafercan Aksu — Biography

Cafercan Aksu (born 15 January 1987 in Antalya) is a Turkish former footballer. A product of the Galatasaray youth system, he was seen as one of the most promising Turkish prospects of his generation and represented Turkey at under-21 level.

Alongside Galatasaray, his professional career took in Orduspor, Boluspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Giresunspor, Karşıyaka, İstanbul Başakşehir, TKİ Tavşanlı Linyitspor, Konyaspor and Körfez SK, and he spent his later years in the Turkish lower divisions with sides such as Kocaeli Birlikspor, Somaspor and Siirt İl Özel İdaresi. Sources disagree on his position, describing him variously as a midfielder and as a striker.

Because that early promise was never fully converted at the top level, Turkish sports media have repeatedly featured him in retrospectives on the country's "lost talents", and he also retains a following among players of the Football Manager series.
