Burak Öksüz — Biography

Burak Öksüz (born 25 January 1996 in Rize) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back and stands 1.85 m tall. He has spent his career in the Turkish leagues.

He joined Hatayspor in 2021 and was in Hatay when the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes struck on 6 February 2023. The building he was staying in collapsed, and he was among the footballers pulled alive from the rubble, an episode widely covered in the Turkish press. He gave a detailed public account of that night only years later, in the spring of 2026.

He subsequently played for Ümraniyespor. In June 2026 he married Cansu Karadoğan at a wedding attended by many figures from Turkish football, and around the same period he was linked in the transfer press with clubs including Batman Petrolspor and Sakaryaspor.
