Bülent Turan — Biography

Bülent Turan was born on 17 January 1975 in the Lapseki district of Çanakkale. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Eastern Mediterranean University, he completed a master's degree in Labour Economics and Industrial Relations at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He practiced law as head of the Turan Law Office and served for a time on the board of the Lawyers' Association.

Turan entered politics as deputy chairman of the AK Party İstanbul Provincial Youth Branches, later spending two years as the party's İstanbul deputy provincial chairman for organisation. Elected to the Turkish Parliament as an İstanbul deputy in the 24th term, he served on the Justice Committee and the Human Rights Committee, sat on the AK Party Group Executive Board, and was deputy secretary-general of the party. In the 25th, 26th and 27th terms he represented Çanakkale in parliament.

He was elected AK Party Deputy Group Chairman in the 26th term, a post he held for a period. As of 2026 he serves as Deputy Minister of Interior.
