Buket Aydın — Biography

The main news bulletins of NTV and Kanal D are where Turkish news presenter Buket Aydın made her name as an anchor. She now presents a programme on TV100 and serves as editor-in-chief of the online news site Haberet.

Born in Bursa, she graduated in Turkish Language and Literature from İstanbul Kültür University and wrote her master's thesis on the poetry of Attila İlhan. After the Kuşdili announcer and presenter course in Kadıköy she read the news on a private radio station for a year, then had her first television experience at Kanaltürk, presenting the sports bulletin, morning news and weekend main bulletins. In 2009 she presented news on CNN Türk, and in 2010 she moved to TRT Türk to host Gümüş Hilal. She joined NTV in 2011, presenting its night bulletin and main news bulletin.

In 2018 she moved to Kanal D to present the main news bulletin, hosted the programme 40 on CNN Türk in the same period, and in January 2019 was named head of the Kanal D news department. In May 2020 she announced that she was leaving her posts at the Demirören Media Group, and in January 2021 she began Buket Aydın ile Koltuk on Haber Global. Her awards include the Best News Announcer Award of Düzce University, the 2016 Anadolu Media Awards, and Internet Media awards for Female News Announcer of the Year and Night News Bulletin of the Year. She has lectured at Nişantaşı University and teaches on an announcer course run by the Beykoz municipality.
