Born Birsel Vardarlı on 12 July 1984 in İzmir, Birsel Vardarlı Demirmen is a retired Turkish international basketball player widely regarded as one of the country's finest point guards.
She spent her entire professional career at Fenerbahçe, making 675 appearances and winning 22 trophies over thirteen seasons, seven of them as team captain. With 820 assists, she ranks among the most productive playmakers in EuroLeague history. She retired in June 2019, and that December Fenerbahçe held a testimonial and retired her number 7 jersey.
Vardarlı Demirmen earned 243 caps for the Turkish national team, helping the side win silver at EuroBasket 2011 and bronze at EuroBasket 2013.
