Billy Osman Mehmet — Biography
Born in London on 3 January 1984, Billy Osman Mehmet spent eight years in the West Ham United academy before moving to Scotland, where he played as a striker for Dunfermline Athletic and St Mirren over seven seasons. His international path was equally varied: he represented England at schoolboy level before later turning out for the Republic of Ireland under-21s and, at senior level, Northern Cyprus.
In Turkey's Süper Lig he wore the colors of Gençlerbirliği and Samsunspor before embarking on an extensive Asia-Pacific career that took him to Perth Glory in Australia, Bangkok Glass in Thailand, Kedah FA and Sarawak FA in Malaysia, Tampines Rovers in Singapore and DPMM FC in Brunei. He was Kedah's top scorer with 23 goals in 26 appearances during the 2014 season.
In 2017 he joined KTFF Süper Lig side Alsancak Yeşilova SK in Northern Cyprus, where he played alongside former Newcastle United forward Lomana LuaLua.
